Who We Are

we transport the products that shape the world

Built on discipline.
Sharpened by cycles.
defined by partnership.

our market

We transport the products that sustain and shape modern life across the globe: the fertilizers that farmers depend on to grow food and the oils we use to cook and flavor it; the acids and caustics essential to producing copper and aluminum that go into everything from electronics to aircraft; the biofuels that make cleaner transportation possible; and the compounds that fill our cabinets with medications and makeup.

Most people will never see a chemical tanker, yet the products we transport touch nearly every aspect of their daily lives.

What We Do

MT Maritime (MTM) is a fully integrated shipowner, operator and manager with more than four decades at the center of global liquid bulk and chemical transportation. What began as a single-office brokerage in Singapore has grown into a global maritime enterprise operating across key markets worldwide.

Despite our growth, MTM has remained true to the disciplined, value-driven approach established by our founders, Doug MacShane and Christina Tan. We stay disciplined when others become reckless, and we seize opportunities for growth when others hesitate.

We operate across three interlocking businesses. We own/operate a fleet of chemical and product tankers, which we trade actively in the spot market. We provide technical and crew management services to our fleet, but also to third-party owners across all shipping segments. And we maintain exposure to the drybulk market through our strategic investment in Pangaea Logistics Solutions (NASDAQ: PANL), an operator that shares our customer-centric approach to value creation.

Our History

MTM was founded in Singapore in 1980 as a specialist shipbroker focused on chemicals and products. Over the decades that followed, the company moved systematically into vessel ownership/operating, built out its own technical management capabilities, developed its own crew pools and established offices across Asia, Europe and North America.

As the platform matured, the company extended its expertise to third-party ship management — leveraging the same systems and standards it applied to its own fleet to serve other owners. The company also developed a meaningful presence in drybulk, initially as an operator and later as an owner under the Strategic Bulk Carriers name, with a focus on the Handysize segment. The drybulk business was merged into Pangaea in 2024.

Today

MTM operates across three core businesses: ship-owning/operating within the chemical and product tanker segments, technical and crew management and strategic investments focused on the broader maritime sector.
